Maruti to launch a new family car "Eeco" at Auto Expo 2010

Maruti Suzuki is planning to launch its new family car "Eeco" at the Delhi Auto Expo 2010. The model has been individually developed for the domestic market. Maruti Eeco will be powered by a 1.2 Litre petrol engine that satisfies Bharat Stage IV emission norms. It appears to be the new exchange model of Maruti Versa(MUV),which failed to generate volumes for MSIL. Maruti Eeco was under development out for three years ago and its improved by the team of the MSIL engineers. The new model will be available with a two-row and three-row seating arrangement and will also adjust 5 to 7 passengers respectively. According to industry sources, the car will be under C-segment and is possible to be priced around Rs.4-lakh.

Maruti Suzuki managing executive officer(engineering) IV Rao said that the new model represent the increasing expertise of our engineers to consider produce and design vehicles. Maruti's parent Suzuki Corp's vision is to change India into a global eye for small car development and research. The 10th Auto Expo start early next month in the national capital. On the other hand, Volkswagen Polo and Ford Figo will also be displayed at Delhi Auto Expo 2010.
