Maruti Suzuki plans to open new plant at Manesar

Maruti Suzuki, India's major auto market leader, is planning to open a new manufacturing plant at its Manesar facility in India. The new plant is believed to have a manufacturing capacity of 2.5 lakh units annually. The company may start the production of cars at the new Manesar plant from year 2012. As per to Industry reports, the setting-up of this new plant can entail an investment of Rs 1,700 crore to the company. Maruti Suzuki's total manufacturing capacity of around 10 lakh units of cars at its manufacturing plants in Gurgoan and Manesar.

According to a statement given by Mr Shinzo Nakanishi, Managing Director and CEO at Maruti Suzuki, the Indian car market is likely to double to five million units by 2015 and the it needs to be prepared to meet the growing demand in order to maintain its leadership position. The company sold a total of 2,82,488 units of its cars in the Indian market during the period of April-July, accounting for a market share of 47.68 per cent.

MSIL is currently selling some of the most popular cars including Maruti Alto, Maruti A-Star, Maruti Wagon R and Maruti Swift Dzire and Maruti Swift and Maruti Ritz in the Indian auto market. Maruti launches new Ritz Genus in India

The country’s largest car maker Maruti Suzuki will unveil a special limited edition ‘Ritz Genus’ today, to commemorate the first anniversary of Ritz model. The limited edition, ‘Ritz Genus’ retains the best attributes of Brand Ritz and adds several exciting features, which include: a brand new signature colour `Emerald Blue’ The colour is accentuated through matching door handles and body colour rear view mirrors. Smart body graphics run all along the length to make the car distinctly appealing. Body side mouldings add character to the Genus’s profile. The rear is enhanced with a back door garnish and graceful “Genus” decal. The interiors are plush with a dual tone dashboard with blue-gray shades. For entertainment, the ‘Ritz Genus’ is equipped with Radio and CD with speakers and tilt-adjustable steering. Other customer-friendly features include keyless entry, rear wiper-cum-washer, and a rear parcel tray. ‘Ritz Genus’ will be available as an option on the Ritz VXi (Petrol) and Ritz VDi (Diesel) models.

Maruti Ritz, launched in May 2009, delivered the best ever first-year performance in the domestic automobile Premium A-2 segment by registering sales of a whopping 68,130 units in its first year of sales. Cumulatively, Ritz has sold over 86,400 vehicles till date. The Ritz has endeared itself to its customers for its superb fuel efficiency of 17.7 kmpl in petrol and of 21.1 kmpl in diesel., bold styling and excellent road handling. Maruti unveiled new SX4 Royale in India

India's major auto player, Maruti Suzuki India Limited has recently unveiled an limited edition of its largest selling sedan car, Maruti SX4 in the Indian market. The new special edition of SX4 is known as Maruti SX4 Royale. the recent effort of Maruti Suzuki, has been launched the special edition of Maruti SX4 which is available in Mumbai and Goa. Maruti SX4 Royale is available with two variants called VXi and ZXi. The attractive features of this new model include anti lock braking system, alloy wheels, electronic brake force distribution, outside rear-view mirrors with integrated turn indicator, dual SRS airbags and silver finished handles.

The all new Maruti A-Star Automatic in India

The country's biggest auto major, Maruti Suzuki has recently introduced an automatic transmission version of its most selling premium hatchback car, Maruti A-Star in India. The new Automatic transmission version of A-Star has been priced at 4.34 lacs (ex-showroom New Delhi).

Most of the features have been inherited fom the original model and some of the extra bit of goodies that this new car would offer includes integrated music system, seat height adjuster, 4 power windows and central locking. The gearbox would sport a slot shift mechanism rather than the conventional (press button and shift) mechanism. Maruti introduced its five new CNG models in India

The country’s largest car maker, Maruti Suzuki has recently introduced its flagship CNG engine technology, ‘intelligent-Gas Port Injection’ or i-GPI on five popular models. The CNG vehicles were unveiled by Mr. Jairam Ramesh, Hon’ble Minister of State (Independent Charge) Environment and Forests in the presence of senior government dignitaries and Maruti Suzuki management team. The models include SX4, Eeco, Wagon R, Estilo and Alto and are being launched in Delhi NCR, Mumbai and Gujrat. With this initiative, the CNG footprint of the company spreads across entry level cars, compact cars, sedans and MPV segments. The new factory-fitted CNG models prices are; Alto Lxi at Rs 3.23; Eeco 5-seater Ac at Rs 3.64; SX4 Vxi at Rs 7.47; Wagon R Lxi at Rs 4.11; Estilo Lxi at 4.05.

Maruti to launch New A-Star Automatic soon in India

The country's biggest auto maker, Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL) is all set to launch an automatic transmission version of Maruti A-Star soon in India. According to industry reports, the new Automatic transmission version of A-Star will be launched in the country by the end of this month. It will be powered by a 1.0L K-series engine that is capable of producing maximum power output of 67 bhp. After it launch in the auto market, the auto gear version of A-Star will be competing with Hyundai i10. The i10 model is the only car which is available with automatic transmission in this price range.

The A-Star is one of the largest exports model of the company from Indian auto market which it sells in both automatic and manual transmission versions in the European auto market. Maruti to raise its dealership network by 2015

Maruti Suzuki India Limited, the country's leagest auto market leader, is intending to raise its dealership network up to 1500 by the next five years. The company has largest dealership network with 828 sales outlets across the country and is now going to expand wind range of its sales outlets in India. Maruti is trying to identify the socio-economic conditions of a particular area, two-wheeler sales and based on that, work out a strategy to start outlets. He was speaking at the occasion of the launch of the new Maruti Alto in the State of Kerala.

The company is planning to increase the number of its dealerships to 100 in the state of Kerala in the next five years as against existing 59 outlets. It sells more than 8000 units of its cars per month in this state which includes 2,700 units of Maruti Alto. The second largest selling car in the auto market, is clocking sales of more than 20,000 units per month. With the launch of the new Alto K10 in the auto market, the company now plans to drive even higher volumes of this small sensation.

New upgraded version of Maruti Alto launched in India

Maruti Suzuki India has launched a new version of its top most selling car Maruti Alto, today. The new version has been powered by the company's most popular K series engine. The all new Alto K10 has been shelved at an ex-showroom price of Rs 3.03 lakh for the base LXi version and Rs 3.16 for the VXi version. The elder sibling with 800 cc engine would co-exist with the new Alto. The 1 litre K10 engine that powers the new Alto also finds space in the Maruti Suzuki A-Star, Estilo and the new WagonR. The K series engine is Aluminium based light weight engine and offers improved acceleration and pick up. The all new Alto is sure to give a tough competition to Chevrolet Spark and Hyundai Santro. Maruti assures an ARAI approved mileage of 20.2 kmpl.

The 1 litre K10 engine would deliver a 68PS of maximum power at 6200 Rpm and 90Nm of maximum torque at 3500 Rpm. Compared to its sibling, the new Alto would be 50 kgs heavier and would reach a maximum of 100kmph in 13.3 seconds as opposed to 17.3 seconds by the 800cc Alto. Apart from the engine being changed, the mechanical aspects of the car would remain same except re-tuned suspension, new cable type transmission for smoother gear shifts and booster assisted braking system. In terms of features there are some minor additions and alterations like dynamic hood, eagle eyed clear lens headlamps, fog lamps and body coloured bumpers. In terms of looks the sides and front end would remain quite similar, but the rear end gets a new look with back door and fresh tail lamps. While in interiors the car would sport dual tone interiors, 3-spoke steering wheel and front and rear passengers integrated headrests.

Maruti Cars get costlier from 3rd of August in India

Due to sharp increase in the input costs, Maruti Suzuki India Limited has decided to pass on part of this cost impact to customers. The approximate price revision on various models (Ex Showroom, Delhi) ranges between Rs 2,000/- and Rs 7,500/-.The price increase ranges between 1 per cent and 1.5 per cent across models. There is no change in the prices of Alto model, the company’s largest selling model. The new prices are applicable with immediate effect.

With this, the company is all set to launch its flagship small car model Alto in a new version in the Indian market on 4th of August. The new car has been named as Maruti Alto K10 which will be powered by a new generation 1.0 K-series engine. The new alto K10 will offer a comparatively high mileage as well as low emission level as against the existing Alto model. The new model will be compatible with new BS-IV emission norms.

Meanwhile, Maruti Suzuki India is all set to launch five of its most popular cars in India in CNG versions, that comprises of best selling Maruti Alto, new Maruti Wagon R, compact hatch Maruti Zen Estilo, MPV Maruti Eeco and starting range sedan Maruti SX4. All of these models will be launched simultaneously in a single day in the second week of this month.

The company sold a total of 1,00,857 units of its cars in July 2010, that includes export of 10,743 units from India. This is the second occasion for Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. in financial year 2010-11, that its sales figures crossed 1,00,000 units mark in a month. This is the highest ever monthly sales of Maruti Suzuki in the Indian market. In its domestic market, the company sold a total of 78,074 units of its car during this month which accounted for a jump 33.4 per cent over the same period last year.
