Maruti Kizashi coming to India

India's major auto market leader, Maruti Suzuki India Limited is going to launch the new most awaited sports sedan Maruti Kizashi in India by 2011. The Maruti Kizashi is already selling in the US and Japanese market and getting wonderful response at there. It might be launched with the affordable price range of around Rs. 10 to 12 lacs. The mid-size car, Maruti Kizashi, was showcased for the first time at the 2007 Frankfurt Motor Show than at the 2007 Tokyo Motor Show. In addition to this, the concept third Kizashi was introduced at the 2008 New York auto show. After showcasing the Maruti Kizashi at different Auto Shows across the world, it was launched commercially in Japan and the US in October 2009 and December 2009 respectively.


The company also displayed the production model of the car at the biggest Auto Expo-Delhi Auto Expo 2010. This was a quick hint of launching the Maruti Kizashi in India too. The all new Maruti Kizashi is available in front well drive and optional all wheel drive in US and Japanese auto markets. It also comes with 6Speed manual transmission and CVT. The Indian car lovers have to wait and watch, because variants and related information regarding that the Maruti Kizashi is not available right now.


The new Maruti Kizashi is powered by a J24B 2.4 petrol engine with 4 cylinder 16 valves DOHC. The 2400cc powered engine is capable enough to generate 185 hp of top power at 6,500 rpm (MT) and 180 hp at 6,000 rpm (CVT) and churns 170 Nm of peak torque at 4,000 rpm. Maruti Kizashi boasts of direct ignition system (DIS) for powerful sparks directly to the plugs which results in ultimate fuel efficiency and less emissions. With the help of this and other engine technologies, the car offers mileage of around 9 kmpl in city and 12 kmpl at highway. The fuel tank capacity of this car is around 63 litre.
